HSA Code of Practice for the Design and Installation of Anchors

The Institution of Structural Engineers and the Association of Consulting Engineers of Ireland will hold a half-day seminar on Design of Concrete Anchors. This seminar will be presented by Mr Bryan Carroll of Masonry Fixing Services Limited. Bryan has been a key participant in the development of the new Irish Code of Practice which came into effect in May 2010. He is also currently active in the development of a European Code on the same subject.

ACEI delegates will also discuss the imminent publication of its advice note to members in relation to design responsibilities for Concrete Anchors.

This half-day seminar will comprise two sessions. The first session will address recent legislation, design requirements and the pending European Code. The second session will be an open forum with design examples to pre submitted questions. Participants registered to attend will be encouraged to submit questions prior to the seminar. All participants will be issued with copies of the relevant design codes and design examples.

This seminar is open to non-members and will be of immense benefit to consultants, contractors and other users of concrete anchors. We would like to encourage members to pass this notice to friends or colleagues who may be interested in this subject matter.
