Crane Information System On The Web (No. 8 Nov-99)

A World Wide Web based mobile crane calculator and information system has been developed at UMIST’s (Manchester) Computer Integrated Construction Group. The information is derived from a variety of commercial sources and from experts in the field. The work is targeted at meeting the information needs of Structural Designers rather than the specialist lift designer or contractor. New Offices for The Oireachtas (No. 8 Nov-99)

oireac5This project was commissioned to provide 100,000 sq. ft. of offices and committee rooms for Oireachtas members and is located on the former National College of Art and Design site between the National Library, Leinster House and the National Gallery of Ireland. The Four Seasons Hotel is an International 5 star 250 bedroom hotel currently being built at the corner of the RDS in Dublin. It is due to open in April 2000.

This Is The Future Of Masonry (No. 8 Nov-99)

In the delightful surroundings of The Court Hotel, Killiney Bay, forty delegates were treated to an informative presentation by five experts in the field of masonry construction on Tuesday 12th October 1999. The occasion was a one-day seminar entitled “This is the Future of Masonry” organised by this Branch to present the current trends in Masonry Construction.
